Grand Canyon Village. Ooooooh! Maverick brings VIP service to the canyon with climate-controlled helicopters and unobstructed views perfect for sightseeing. The beauty and solitude of the North Rim of the Grand Canyon is usually in stark contrast to what most tourists expect to see. The most developed area of Grand Canyon National Park, the South Rim offers amenities such as bus service, hotels and water stations, but is also more crowded than the North Rim. Enter through the park gate near Jacob Lake via Highway 67; you'll need to pay the entrance fee to see the views from the North Rim; you just can't get close enough to the rim to see anything from the road outside the Park. There is only one campground at the North Rim for both tents and RV's. NPS North Rim Campground (89 sites) - Located close to the Grand Canyon North Rim Visitor Center. November 1December 1; Open for day use (no overnight parking) and pay-at-the-pump gas and diesel available. Day hikers are not required to obtain a permit from the park service. Restrooms are close with laundry and shower facilities available for a fee. The trail can be reached from the North Kaibab trailhead by following the Ken Patrick Trail. It was evident that Grand Canyon Conservancy was involved in numerous projects that help preserve the natural and cultural resources of the park.
